    T- Ven Surplus Powder

    I was given some of this powder by a friend,anybody know about this powder.

    Ray, I got 8 lb. of TVEN from Thunderbird Cartridge Co. almost 30 yrs. ago and wish I could get another jug of it. Mine looked like small, flat dark gray "diamonds" and was very slick. It metered well too and was almost an exact match with IMR 4198 + very clean burning. As a suggested starting load, I used to use 23gr. of TVEN with 175gr. CB's in my .30-06. Your lot may not be identical, so exercise caution when using it.
