    old gas grill

I have an old gas grill that has seen better days. I put my electric melt pot, an old steel dust pan, a mold. Wow it works great as a pre set up for a place to cast out side it is the right height. I may add some sheet metal over the grill, because I have lost a few bullets down but over all I am pleased.

Had some neighbors down the road where I used to live that threw out there Weber grill station. Had a cart, lid with thermometer and cabinet. I converted that to my smelting station. Good luck with your setup and nice job repurposing it.

I use the side burner on our grill to render lead and pewter pieces into ingots. I use a cut down helium tank as a pot, and a piece of sheet metal as a wind screen.

Great repurposing idea. I wish I had a nice lid I could pull down over my casting stuff.

My wife received a propane turkey fryer for Christmas some years ago and used it ONCE..........then saw a video of how they can overflow and start a fire, so it became my bulk lead melting station. With an old, cut in half freon tank for a pot it has become an excellent melter holding about fifty pounds of metal in one shot.

It always astounds me how the members on this forum repurpose everything, and that's why I keep a close eye on the forum. Constant new ideas!

I like the re-purposed BBQ Idea but I've grown to like the back of my trailer.
I use a large turkey fryer pot for smelting sheet lead and other bulky leads

and this (no longer new/clean) propane tank for everything else

Sounds like a good way to re-invent a use for the old grill ... I like it .

Those are a lot of nice ingot molds! Looks like you are ready for a lot of production.

You can get free propane tanks to cut from your local hardware or whatever place that refills if they take old tanks with obsolete fittings. My place charged them $5 to take as they would not refill them with the old fittings but gave as many as I wanted for free to me to take them away. Saves them money. I've heard you can also take an old fitting tank to those exchange cage places and swap out for a new filled one. Just sayin.
