Reloading Data Wanted for .256 Win Mag

I went to a garage sale & I bought a box of handloaded .256 Win Mag. I won't shoot someone else's garage sale reloads, but the factory Win brass alone was worth the price I paid! Scribbled on the box was 75gr H & 4.9gr of TiteGroup. I looked around in my manuals & I couldn't find any data for TiteGroup in the .256. Curiosity has the best of me. Has anyone tried it or have a line on some load data for TG in a .256?

    TIA

It sounds like a very mild load. It may not even develop 1000 f/s, depending on the barrel length from which it is (would have been) launched.
Do you need other data for the .256? My older Lyman Manual may have it.

Quickload (QL) says that these loads are mid power "plinkers", 1400 fps from a 10" gun.

And QL says there is no powder available that will go over SAAMI limits with a 5 gr charge and a 75 gr bullet.

If shooting in a gun with good margins (Contender for example), I would be tempted to pull a couple, confirm everything is consistent with the labelling and then shoot one or two. Then examine the cases and if "normal", then shoot the rest. The 256 Win will stretch primer pockets before damaging the gun.

On the flip side, the stated charge is below 50% fill. A double charge is possible. A double charge of TG would be bad news. Running each load on a scale and doing your disassembly on the heaviest couple would reduce your risk of a stray double charge.

    Code:
    Cartridge : .256 Win. Mag.
    Bullet : .257, 75, Speer FN 1237
    Useable Case Capaci: 18.209 grain H2O = 1.182 cm³
    Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 1.590 inch = 40.39 mm
    Barrel Length : 10.0 inch = 254.0 mm
    Powder : Hodgdon TiteGroup

CAUTION: Figures exceed maximum and minimum recommended loads !
