    having trouble with lee C312-160-1R

Ok,so my boolits look great how they fall from the mold.I am water quenching them, then powder coating. However after powder coating the gas checks are hard to get on(square up and fully seat). If i don't powder coat they go on easy peezy. So then comes the question should I powder coat after checks are installed?or powder coat then case lube with 1 part lanolin oil 9 parts alcohol befor installing gas checks?I'd like to have checked pc'd boolits when i'm all done.

This is pretty common problem. If you seat GC before PC it's easier to seat and sometimes more reliable but you can't use any lubes while sizing plus you'll have to size it again after PC. If you seat it after PC it might be harder to seat gas check and you might need to first seat it with the help of third-party tools and than size it. I usually go the first route. I've noticed that gas checks put on top of PC or High Tech I can wiggle them, not all it depends on bullet and fit.
Here's red high tech and black sprayed on PC.

I size my bullets regardless. I don't like to have shaved lead / powder coat. Also with pistol bullets I use bullet feeder and it's important to have same size for reliable feeding. But if I was using traditional lube well... how are you going to seat gas check?? Unlike factory gas checks these won't stay on unless you size.

Yupper, these work alot better now.I wasen't having luck with the bullet unchecked and the checks diden't wanna go on after powder coating but seat check first then coat, load, shoot, smile.I'm getting way better accuracy now and feels like a better shooting bullet.
