Help with Ruger American Rifle in 300 Blackout

I have a Ruger American Rifle in 300 Blackout. It is the newer version as it uses AR magazines. The rifle is accurate enough but when you eject an expended brass and go forward to pickup a new round it seems like the bolt hits a hard spot and you really have to push the bolt to take a round out of the magazine. It seems to be hard no matter what brand of magazine you use or how many round the magazine it. Take the magazine out and the bolt is butter smooth.

Do you all have any ideas.....could it be new gun with new magazine and needs to break in a bit more.....love the gun. It is easy to carry and does everything I ask of it except the pickup of the new round is hard.

    Thanks in advance......Paul
When guns are outlawed only criminals and the government will have them and at that time I will see very little difference in either!

Have you checked for wear (shiny) marks on the magazine? Just a thought!

The bolt is binding up going thru the feed lips. Try polishing them on one mag and see if that wont help.

I have the same rifle in 243 and 223 with the rotary mags. Have to cycle the action with authority. Its just not a nice controlled round feed action.

I have a first edition black out using the old and much maligned Ruger rotary magazine. I was just shooting it Monday. Man I love that rifle!!!

Last year I bought a 350 Legend and it cane with these AR magazines and the problems you describe. I was able to alter to 2nd amend magazines and enjoyed no problems u till last fall. All of a sudden they wont work Properly either??? I was able
To grab two magazines on Midway a d these have workd perfectly.

I suggest you try other magazines.

    Good luck
