    2400 IN .223 55 Grain jacketed.

Only data i can find for 2400 is for cast in my lymans 4th. Max cast load is way below Sami max pressures. Wondering if 15-grains would be safe for berrys FMJ bullets.

2400 is pretty close to 4227 in burn rate, here's someone using 15 grains 4227 in a 223. Post #21.

1999 Alliant data- Maximum is 15.9 grs 2400 for 55 gr jacketed bullet. Reduce 10% for a starting load.

I've used 2400 and 50 gr Sierra Blitz bullets to make quiet groundhog hunting ammunition.

The 2400 loads are awesome. I ran 3 guns today. Here is the range report.
I was on today. 100 yard distance. Top left with my Savage 93 in 17HMR. Head was with my Savage axis .223 55 grain Berrys bullets. 24 grains of Varget. To the right my Savage A22 target with Winchester 555 bulk. Center the .223 with Berry's bullets 55 grain with 15 grains of 2400. Much better than the red dot loads. Slight breeze today.

Not surprised with your results. 15.0 2400 with Speer 40gr SP avgs 3089fps in my 222Rem and shoots right along with the more standard bullet/powder combos. This is in a Savage 340 24" so not an ultra accurate rig but this load gets about all the precision I can get out of it with the old Weaver 4x it came with.

My range has a max distance of 225 yards to steel targets. My "midrange" load for .223 bolts and single shots to ring steel at that range is 14 grs. 2400 under a Hornady 55 grs #2267 (fmjbt). If I miss, it's not because of the load

I've never tried 2400 in .223 but, have used IMR4227. May have to try 2400 sometime.
