    Powder charges???

I got some boolits from another board member to try. The problem is the boolits weigh more than the lyman book covers. They are .278 and weigh 135 & 150 gr Lyman only goes to 136.gr. Soooo, for the 150gr boolit load I was wondering if I could use a load from 7mm or 30cal loadings? I'm loading for the 270win and was thinking the 280 rem load shows reddot loads near the same for 135gr boolits.

You can always use a 270 load for a 280 load for the same projectile weight, provided the case capacities are the same. Because both are based upon the 06 case, the rule holds intact. Also, if the projectile weight is only SLIGHTLY heavier in the larger diameter, say 140 versus 130 in the smaller, the rule will still hold, but NOT vice-versa. Because lead projectiles are used in your example the rule can be expanded somewhat safely to include what you want to do with your RedDot load(s). ... felix

Loaded up the heavy boolits for my 270 using load data from 280 tables. They shot good, a little lowin velocity (10gr r-dot under 150gr boolit for 1400fps). no pressure signs.
