I have collected images of shotshell ads from the earliest to about 1960. The art went to pot with the arrival of plastic shells.Click image for larger version.

Was just browsing and see where Remington has resurected "big blue" Peters 12 guage shells. Very well, but in this day and time of technology they used packaging that is tasteless and indicative of a "nerd" at the controls. Why not spend a few cents more and go back to the old nostalgic label./beagle

I would be happy with plain boxes and those prices.

I have seen some nice new boxes. I guess I should go find them and tell you who done it. They were cowboy ammo.

One way is to look for a child warning, this was not implemented until 1962. I’d guess boxes are 50’s, early 60’s maybe? I have several of the same..

Dude those are called “Bear” boxes and are worth a lot of money if original contents are there.

If you go back even older, they kind of simple. There was a short time for that beautiful artwork.

I love the old shotshell boxes with the ducks on them. I pretty much love the old boxes period. Those old Winchester boxes are classy. Thanks all for sharing.
