    Weaver Quick Point

I acquired one of these in a deal as it came with something I wanted. I know virtually nothing about these. Good for anything?

The grandfather of red dots. Rifle or shotgun? My dad put one on his deer rifle in the early 70s when they first came out and he shot a pile of deer with it over the years. If the mirrors are good and not scratched up, mount it up and try it out.

This one is not in good shape, it's dirty and there's some surface rust on it. I haven't cared for the red dots I have used, granted, I haven't used them much. As high and awkward as this looks, I think it might be OK on a dedicated trap gun, but can't see a lot of use for it otherwise.

I may take it out and see what it'll do though.

    .

I bought one when they were 1st introduced, but sold it as soon as (for) the Aimpoint came to market - because it was a brush hook, hanging my (shotgun, at the time) swing up in any foliage that wasn't more than about 4' away.

As noted, when they were introduced, they were a hit because AFAIK they were the first red-dot sight.

Today, I use small reflex red dot sights - nothing bigger.

Well, I held this one up and can see the dot through it so it works. Things are cloudy, looks like it could use some cleaning inside and I have no idea if that's even possible.
