I use the original Lee Bator. The new Lee would probably be good. Get the 6 cavity and cast fast fast fast to keep the mold hot. I powder coat mine and use them in all my 22's including the Hornet.

225107 and 225415 for 22LR, 22WRM duplication for vermin and small game.

225438 and 225462 for best accuracy and/or higher velocity. They doo fine for small game/vermin also.

To pick one; for older 16" twist Hornets the 225438 is my first choice. For 14" and faster twist the 225462 gets the nod.

    The only 2 I have are 225415 and 225438.
So far my Ruger #3 like the 225438 the best.

As was said, the 225438 for 16” twist. But my two cavity drops about .4 grains apart and I have to sort to keep them separated. Just picked up a MP four cavity 227-640 FP GC and only did a quick cast with it and out of 190 Bullets 94% were +/- .15. Haven’t shot them yet but it should work ok. And the little bullets almost jumped out of the mold by themselves. Darnness thing you ever saw.

Got tons of hours playing with the 225438 shooting subsonic. I also have the Lyman 225415 55g RN GC and the NOE 225-61-FN A2 but twist rate and hornets are picky about what they shoot. Good luck, Bill.

I like the 37 gr. for all around use and for use in my magazine fed Anschutz's. I use the WFN (both PB & GC) in my single shots mostly. I like them being a little heavier and they have the wide metplat (for a .22 cal bullet).

In the pic L to R: These are culls I sized and GC'd for examples.

The middle one in the picture is the exact one I use on Squirrels, but I don't push it hard.

I heartily agree. Mine (a T/C carbine) likes that blunt nose boolit at about 17-1800 fps MV. The new Lee 22 cal mold that replaced it doesn't shoot in mine nearly although my 222's and 223's like the new one better.
