    WTB: Soft lead for sluging

I want to slug three 30 caliber barrels. I do not have any soft lead, the equipment to melt or pour into a case to produce any slugs.
So, I am asking for if anyone has a few soft lead round balls or boolits available for sale. I am guessing .312 to .314 or so should work. Please correct me if my guess is incorrect.

Retail suppliers of same will be likewise appreciated.

    Thanks

Any lead 'banks' style lead 3/8 ounce sinkers for fishing? They should work.

barrel fishing weights work great, find a size a little larger than your bore.

Any friends who shoot 36 caliber cap and ball revolvers? The balls from them should work OK.

Would stick on wheel weights or plumbing lead be soft enough to slug a barrel?

^^^^yep^^^^ Depending on 'how to' sources, barrel fishing weights are preferred/recommended. The hole down the middle gives the lead a place to flow into and the slug will then have less spring-back, resulting in a more accurate measurements.

The only downside is the possibility the sinker manufactuer used other than soft/nearly pure lead. But if they thumbnail dent easily, they are soft enough. IMO

Plumbing lead would be soft enough. Roofing lead would work, too. Make sure you lube your bore and slug, before attempting to drive it through
