    check maker from Gamsek

I got mine in the mail the other day and have tried it out and it is working flawlessly. I am using some aluminum sheet left over from some roof repairs that measures .011 and it is about right for the boolits I have that are powder coated already. They are the 312-160 lee pointed boolits. I will get some loaded in 30-30 and 308 and see how they do.

No, I just cut strips and punched them out. It is not flashing that I am using ,but is trim metal which has a painted finish and is typically bent to fit as trim pieces. Flashing will be stiffer I think.

Yes,these are very well made tools.

I had problems with 0.40 mm copper but got 0.30 (0.012") yesterday and it cuts much easier.

I will try to move the upper part a bit higher on the Rock Chucker to get more power for the cut. Unscrew that black collar a bit. If there is room for the strip to go freely.

Now waiting for DHL to bring a mold. Then I'm almost set, only a dedicated .30 cal cast rifle is missing.

0.30 mm works great. I do need thick gloves to "slap" but it works.

I size with a LAM and .311" die gives me .312 " bullet with this medium hard alloy, maybe 14 BHN. Too early to tell now.

Anyway, 0.30 mm check gets sized to .012" as well.

Turning the Rock Chucker collet open made cutting easier as expected.

Collet can be turned open some 4-5 mm before things get crowded around the sleeve cut. But that makes the handle drop 2-3",giving more leverage and a much easier "slap".

And absolutely completely perfectly super "snap fit" with 0.30 copper / Miha's 140 Sledgehammer.

    I need to be stopped.

You can use this little trick to catch GCs, they collect at the bottom of the bag.

Question. Are the materials you use to make the checks aluminum or copper lubricated prior to going through the check maker?. Don't have a check maker and didn't see where any lube was used.
maybe PAM or something similar would work. Frank

I lube everything with cutting oil.

Strips both sides,I also oil both cutter parts when changing strips.

It was a limited one time run, my retired machinist friend made a batch of 7mm and 30cal GC makers for me and few friends; all extra tools were offered here and quickly sold. No more tools in the future.
