My wife found out about one of my gun purchases about 3 months after the fact. She was not happy and I was in the doghouse for awhile.

My wife does not get on to me about such; as being a pedigreed hill billy, I just keep a separate stash built up from trading and selling. Call it my rat hole stash. Last thing I bought with common family money was an Enfield No 1, Mark III* I bought about 10 years ago.

Sneaking in guns is easier than sneaking in gun safes.

Yeah that second safe will have to come home while she's at work. When she finally notices, Ill tell her the guns and the first safe fell in love and had babies. Natural order of things and all.

Around here its the motorcycles that are hardest to "camouflage". I am not buying any more firearms as I am satisfied with what I have now. In fact I'm selling the ones off that never get used.

Man just think if you had as many guns as the wife has shoes and purses...The floor would need reinforcement !

Just make sure to treat her to something extra when you treat yourself to extras.

If your wife can keep track of your guns - YOU NEED MORE. She does not even ask if I NEEDED a new one when I bring one home. I CANNOT change her hunting rifles without consulting her though and she DOES NOT want another rifle for a GIFT! No new scopes, same loads that have worked for years, or changes unless approved, just so she has 'fresh' ammo each hunting season.

had to laugh yesterday. I got a new leupold scope in the mail for the 7mag. Threw it on top of the safe in the living room. She sat down to watch tv and asked me if i got a new scope. I think the only reason she noticed is that were emptying the house because were tearing it down and building new. Used to be a ton of crap on top the safe i put out in the barn so it was sitting there alone. i told here it was a late valentines present i forgot to give her. She got some electronic do dad watch in the mail yesterday too. Now talk about a waste of money! Youd have to hit a deer with it very hard to put back straps in the freezer!!!!!!!!!!
