I really dislike cleaning the basket as my wife and I ARE the dishwasher(s). I've been using folded parchment paper to line the basket, but I also dislike throw away stuff and having to purchase it again. So I looked for a more long lasting solution and found these:

They are easy to cut and while there was waste I didn't pay for a huge amount of waste. Time will tell if they work or not. Oh, how to trim them? Use a scribe, which can be as simple as a mech' pencil with no lead exposed and scribe the perimeter of the upside down basket. Go over it a few times. That will give an impressed line to use scissors on. It'll also be too big for the bottom of the basket so you'll have a bit of a lip to catch drippings. If it works or not I'll be back.
