    New toy...

Just won this Charles Daly Superior on our favorite auction site.
It is a Zastava MP22, Czech made, and from what I read pretty well at that.
Can't wait for it to show up, I've read mostly good things about these rifles.
Need to find some scope rings, apparently they need 11mm instead of 3/8.
Everyone says the stocks look unfinished. Right up my alley!!

Hey Mike, Nice looking rifle. Talking about the 11 mm rings. I found the best source of rings, bases and most everything else in the scope and scope accessories line are in the air gun line. I found what I needed at Pyramyd air. I even bought my scope there. Give it a look over.

Look for air rifle tip off rings as they are usually 11mm.

Nice rifle. For scope rings for 11mm dovetail I would highly recommend BKL rings.

Nice rifle congrats. I put 3/8 rings on my CZ 457. The dove tail is 11mm.

SOME of the old Weaver tip off .22 rings will work on 11mm dovetails. I used a set from the 70's or 80's on my CZ 452. The ones I used came on the brown cardboard blister pack.

Probably easier to find the recommended ones than looking for old Weavers still in the package, but it did work.

I have one too, it's very accurate. The trigger adjusts like the Winchester 75, you can get it down to 8 ounces safely but I set mine at 2lbs. The best factory trigger I have shot . Mine shoots high velocity ammo very well. I think they finish the stock with used motor oil but is real walnut under that finish. Good luck with it

    Update!
After winning the auction on the 23rd of February the rifle is finally here!
What the seller didn't disclose is that the rifle is new unfired in the box with all the papers!
    This thing is exquisite!
Old world craftsmanship, and I'm guessing Turkish walnut! All for $176.00 plus the ride! Winner, winner!
I'm in the process of putting on a few coats of hand rubbed Linseed oil to bring out the really nice grain.
    I'm very pleased!!

If I'm not mistaken , the Zastava line of rifles is Serbian not Czech. Nice rifles. I had two of them, one of which had extraction issues until I pulled the barrel and increased the depth of the extractor recess so the hook could grab the case sufficiently. At the time I had mine they were being imported, if I recall correctly, by CAI and sold by J&G Sales. When I contacted them about the extraction issue, I was told, more or less, "tough luck, we don't fix them, just sell them and, no, we don't know who does repairs, but perhaps your local gunsmith can help you out".

Kinda left me with a bad feeling about the rifle even though it had beautiful wood, very nice blue and was accurate as all get out.

Because of my concern about the lack of support they found new homes and the current owners are very pleased with them apparently.
