I have a H&R Survivor 410/45 colt, I’m wanting to load brass shells with .452 and black powder, has anybody played with this?

If your Survivor has a rifled barrel of normal .45 Colt dimensions use a soft lead bullet which fits, lubed with SPG or 50-50 olive oil and beeswax, with 40 grains of 2Fg, card over-powder wad, two 3/8" fiber cushion wads. If shooting a hollow-based traditional .45 Colt bullet also place a hard card under the bullet to prevent the cushion wad from deforming the base. If shooting commercial hard-cast bullets place a blob of Crisco under the bullet and on top of the card before seating the bullet, to keep the black powder fouling soft.
Reducing the free bullet travel or "jump" of the .45 bullet in the longer .410 chamber by using this method can improve accuracy dramatically, and the full-charge black powder load has more authority than the wimpy modern lawyer stuff. If you want to put a bit more lead in your pencil increase the black powder charge to 55 grains, remove one of the cushion wads and substitute a 300-grain bullet. Remove your dentures before firing.
The ENEMY is listening.
HE wants to know what YOU know.
Keep it to yourself.

This is actually what I was hoping. And the 300 grain is the idea I had.

I have Magtech hulls but no pistol primers, I’ve read that you can deepen the pocket to use large rifle primers. Does that sound reasonable
