Yes I am the engraver. I've always had a passion for beautiful firearms but no money for them. So I bought the book and self taught me how to engrave. I wouldnt call myself a professional. Just passionate

    Isn't that the same thing?

At work I tell my guys after a certain point we are no longer simple maintainers, we are artisans. When we fix the aircraft and put it back back together, it should like better and work better than the day it was brand new.

I'm not one to go looking at engraved guns. I'm a cheap bastrich, and have never been able to afford to buy one. I've been somewhat idly interested in learning how to engrave, collected some odd bits and pieces, and plans to make an engraving vise from a bowling ball, but never got any farther than that. I have too many other projects on the back burner right now to add another one, but that thing is just gorgeous, and I may have to change my mind a bit one of these days. It's YOUR FAULT!

Thank you sir. You are very kind. The blame for this belongs to the MASTERS, Meeks, whos work and littiature I have studied, Prudhome, Angilo Bee, just to name a few. They are the High ground of professionals.

As a machinist/toolmaker I can hold my own. I have zero artistic abilities. I can't even draw a good stick man.................... I have great respect for those that have this ability.

I will find them asap. There are two books. No videos. The book I would most recomend would be THE ART OF ENGRAVING, A book of instructions, by James B Meek. Mr Meek keeps everything where even a back woods hick like me can understand. A man who truely loves the art enough to share his know how. There is no book that can replace , ounce you learn how to sharpen you graver knives, just sitting down with your graver and hammer and just start cutting, cutting, cutting, and cut some more on scrap metal.
