This is my newest single shot.
Holland and Holland chambered in 35 Winchester. Made in 1896.
Was originally a 303 but I assume it had a bad bore as many of the early 303s developed and was rebored.

That rifle does not belonged in this thread!

It needs it own thread with a ton of pictures............

I will say that is absolutely gorgeous.

Husqvara made in 1874 Swedish M67 in 12.7x44R. Been looking for a M67 in original military configuration with unit disk but in 12.7x44R with a shootable bore for a while to go with my modest collection of Swedish military rifles, all of which are shot with cast. Almost passed on it, as it was marked 1910 Eric Olsson by a previous owner or holder, but the markings grew on me, and now I like them as part of its history. Searching, I found several Eric Olsson's alive in 1910 in Sweden. Rifle number 20 of the 4th Company of the 18th Infantry Regiment. Here's a link so you can hear the Regiment's march song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfEcp9vxRok&t=21s I need/want to get a Husqvarna made M67 bayonet for it.

Already found an accurate load: Lee 515-450 cast 20/1, sized .512" (groove diameter is .5115" on mine), 50/50 lube, 12.0gr Unique, 50 Alaskan converted brass, 2.27" oal, WW LRP. Haven't chronographed it yet, but estimate 1050fps. No brass resizing needed, but have to very slightly bell case mouth to start bullet and then remove the bell, but not crimp, in order to fully chamber the loaded round. With rear sight as low as it will go (120 Swedish Alen's), it's 3" high at 75yd and 1/2" low at 100yd. 120 Alen would equate to slightly under 80yd. I prefer a mild load, easy on brass, rifle and me. At 100yd, most shots hit a 3" circle, but a few miss, and I think it's due to me and that "superb" heavy trigger pull. Bullets all hit point first. Good grief, but do those large bullets go through the alloy and lube!

The below group was at 35yd while I was testing different loads and needed the target close enough for my eye sight; it's the 12.0gr Unique load. The recovered bullet shows it conforming to the deep grooves in the bore. Loaded rounds next to a .223. I have the bullet seated out a touch to get closer to the rifling. Since I don't carry the rounds in a pouch or pocket or combat, I'm not worried about the exposed lube picking up dirt or gunk.

Wow from my figuring about 13 1/2 boolits per pound! 3.7 pounds for 50.

Bullets for my Husqvarna made M67 are coming out 445gr without lube and my 20/1 alloy. The recovered bullet weighed 440 after I cleaned off the dirt.

Whitney No. 2 Sporting Rifle. I couldn't pass it up, it is in great shape but the barrel has been relined. It's in 22 rimfire and is an excellent shooter.

That looks like a full sized rifle ! Usually 22 rimfire are quite petite and light framed. Very nice !
I have a Whitney rolling block shotgun in 18 ga. and had RMC make me 10 solid brass hulls to shoot it with.

I own two #1 Remington Rolling Block rifles in .22LR. They indeed are overkill in a .22RF chambering, but very cool and fun to shoot too!

I acquired a Winchester High Wall, barreled by H.M.Pope in 1896, his barrel number 53 and serial number of the gun jive with records. Pristine bore. Resurrected/restored from a neglected condition by Steve Durren. .32-40.

Pope barrel and false muzzle are pretty serious attributes.

Buddy had one when were were kids. He had some loads the were low end 458 Win Mag level. That is the worst kicking firearm I have ever shot. 40 plus years later I haven't warmed up to the Ruger Single Shots due to that particular #3. The Rugers are great guns and I have no legitimate reason for not liking them. Mostly I have Highwalls, Trapdoors and Sharps.

I shot a 45-70 No.3 30 years ago. I don't need to shoot this one to remind me. Bought it because it was a great price. Really should trade it for a different caliber.

Your #53 looks quite improved from the way it looks in Warren Greatbatch's Hartford Pope books! The stocks and buttplate were pretty ugly back then!

Wow, some very nice rifles here. My .44 mag Henry is not so rare but it is set up nicely now. Going to take to the range Saturday and get it sighted in at 100 yards.

Nice 44 Charlie. That gold ring scope should get you sighted in quickly. What are your loads going to be? I've a gold ring same style. Mine's a 1-4 power. Has a 4 inch eye relief due to it being on a 400 Jeffery.

@ MOA. Initially my loads will be a powdered coated 240 gr. boolit over 11.1 gr. HS-6. It's a load that works well in 7.5" SBH. Tried a few before I got the scope mounted and they do about 1500 fps. I've got some WW296 but no 240 grain XTP's which have always been good at full power in various 44's. I did load a few of my PC boolits over 21 grains of 296 and they did 1730 fps. without leading. Maybe I will load some of those for my Saturday range trip. My alloy is about 15bhn.

    Got it couple'o weeks ago

Just tore down this rifle. Plan to colorcase the receiver and reface the breechblock. Just received a .44 barrel from green mountain to mount on it. Plan to make it a 44 Special or maybe 444 Marlin...
