Sage's Outdoors for gas checks!! first time buyer

    https://www.sagesoutdoors.com/

First time in a very long time I had to go shopping for gas checks for 6.5 and 8mm. None to be found at the usual places so I googled and came up with Sage's Outdoors. They not only had gas checks but had them waaaaaay cheaper than anybody. Like 24 and 27 bucks per 1k with only 8.50 postage. Ordered late last night they shipped today.

Youse guys probably already know about this source but I thought I'd give a heads up. These are "Gator" checks.

Thanks for posting that. I had been unable to find any 7mm gas checks. Got 500 on the way now. Too bad .357s were sold out!

They are also great because you can buy in lots smaller than 1000. Sometimes you just don't need that many.

Excellent source. I had only used Hornady checks until I tried them. The only difference I could find was price (lower).

Sage's is good people...Buy with confidence!

In addition to selling Gator's checks, they manufacture as well, so they have stuff in stock pretty regularly.

CoolHandMoss, keep going back and looking, they restock pretty often. I was looking for some .308 gas checks for a while and found them there. Great folks to work with.

I use them and they have all worked well except the GCs for 8mm Mauser, they are really hard to seat straight on bullets from a lee mold.

Agree. Ended up seating the GC in separate operation on my Lee 8mm cast.

I ordered from Sage the other day after I found a tip on CB and they came promptly. They only had 0.017" Copper for .30 cal but I'm going to need about 5,000 for the lead I have coming in and on hand. I've been wanting ot try some aluminium ones but haven't found them in stock. Have a few hundred on a trade coming so at least I'll get to try them.

I've use Sage checks for several years. I have a few thousand of each of the calibers I shoot. The quality to price can't be beat.

I don't plan on shooting a lot o gas checked 45 rifles , pistols for that matter so it was nice to be able to order a short lot of 45 cal checks .

The others on hand , aluminum for 27,28,30&35 cal have proven quality of components for me . I had an issue with some 35 cal aluminum checks but they weren't Sage's .

Try shaping a punch or end of appropriately sized bolt to open the sides of the check enough for easy starting. Place the business end of the re-ground punch into open side of the check and give it a gentle whack. The sizer die will fold the sides of the check back in.

I ordered from Sages for the first time on the 3/27. It was shipped that day! I ordered some .44 cal Gator checks. The only place that had any .44 cal gas checks. I want to be ready when my Accurate mold arrives.
