    Lyman 9mm devastator

Trying out Lyman devastator in Springfield EMP4 9mm. First few rounds seem to function well. Also it looks like they open up in water jugs the best I could tell.

I am having problems with mine keyholing. From either a Kimber Micro9 or a Ruger SR1911 Officer. They group fairly well, but 2 of 9 tumbled, flew to the left, and hit the paper sideways. Go figure.

Most 9mm barrels are 1 in 10 twist and with a short bearing surface they may be stripping the rifling. I found water dropping tightened up my groups but that defeats the expansion. It's on my list to get a 1 in 16 Swensen barrel but primers and powder ate the money first.

I thought it might be diameter, so I tried .357 but a couple still hit sideways. If I examine the paper I think I can see that all the others had some degree of wobble. One side of the round hole is cut wile the other side looks torn.

Powder coat them and try to size them up.

After a tighter fit and some powder coat wondering if a little speed may help. What's your velocity?
If liars pants really did catch on fire, watching the news would be a lot more fun!
