    I Wish Remington Would Make...

Since Remington is getting a reset as a gun company and will HOPEFULLY be run by people who want to make guns and not somebody who just wanted to manage assets, what would you like to see the new Remington come out with in their product line? I'll go first:

    • Nylon 66 .22 rifle. This one seems like a no brainer.
    • An AR rifle chamber for the .30 AR. It seems like Remington never gave this one a chance.
    • A rifle chambered in 5mm Remington Magnum. My son picked off a squirrel at 100 yards with mine last weekend. I wish you guys could get one.

    What did I miss?

Rolling block rifles!! Or maybe an anniversary release of the model 8? (In all three calibers of course).
The 5mm idea is fantastic - would be even more so in a Remington single shot!

Oh c'mon! I was just looking for something realistic like a Remington derringer in 41 RF (with a plethora of ammo available) not unicorn hair like primers ! Sheesh!

700 Classic in 6 mm Remington, .280 Remington, and .35 Whelen. The 788 in 30-30 and .358 Win. The real m51 in .32 ACP, and the m17 pump shotgun in .410, 28 and 20 gauge.
Oh yeah, bring back components like the excellent primers and PowrLokt and CoreLokt bullets......

A profit...or it don't much matter. So that means something with wide market appeal, that works and is affordable.

The 5mm is dead and will stay dead. It may offer a bit more killing power and less wind drift than the .17HMR but not enough to carve out a significant market share, and the .17 is flatter shooting. No pizzazz means no sales.

...which is why my son and I use it for serious small game hunting and not a .17 HMR. Still, you could be right. Since when has practicality ever entered into marketing success? Anyhow, I got mine.

A 700 extra short action that would be right size for smaller cartridges like Hornet, Bee, Vartarg, -- you name it. jd

5mm Remington ammo that you can actually afford to shoot should you have one of the rifles they built and then abandoned ammo wise .
A nice easy carrying rifle and carbine in .22 Hornet , .218 Bee , .256 Win Mad , 32-20 . 25-20 would be great also so maybe somebody would start making enough brass to go around .

Myself Id like to see them ring back the old craftsmanship and quality in the existing line of firearms. Really what good is a reintroduction of a fine firearm if it dosnt work?

Another I always liked was the classic calibers every year, but would like to see a yearly classic firearm offered. Hepburns rollers nylon 66s Oh My

A quality, affordable No.2 rolling block.

The Model 788 in .222 Remington.

Model 870 Wingmaster's with a smooth finish again.

The model 32. A centerfire 580 with the receiver stretched a bit to take 32-20 length cartridges. The model 14 1/2. The small frame '58 revolver. The side by side hammer gun. The list goes on...
