What thread size for flash hider?

What size thread does a AR-Stoner 16 inch 9mm barrel take for a flash hider?

I believe it's the same as for a standard AR15 which would be 1/2"x28 tpi. If I'm wrong please correct me. Frank

Doesnt matter who made the barrel, the 1/2x36 IS the 9mm spec, 1/2x28 is the 5.56/223 spec. different exit hole diameters.

Sure, but that Link is to the same 16 inch 9mm barrel you bought.

1/2x36 was common until recently. Tons of 9mm barrels are made these days in 1/2x28 because of the popularity of the direct thread supressors made with that thread pitch. I have only have 1 1/2x36 barrel in my stuff because it was a clearance item....everything else in 9mm and 38/357 is 1/2x28. Its not a absolute...its whatever the market demands and drives.

I think the majority if not all of the AR Stoner 16" are 1/2x36. Pistol/SBR AR Stoner can and usually are 1/2x28. Post a picture of the threads.

Better yet if you have calipers measure and count.
    1/2x36
.4 inch of threads will be 14.4
.5 inch of threads will be 18

    1/2x28
    .4 11.2 threads
    .5 14 threads

It's funny you say that. I've got five 9mm firearms with threaded barrels. Everyone of them is threaded 1/2x28.

Funny or not, he is correct. 1/2x28 has been used to allow more choices.

    This from a vendor site.

Threaded 1/2x28 instead of 1/2x36 to give you greater versatility when choosing a suppressor.

    Link shows 1/2x36.

Most of the tanks are gone and the windows don't rattle anymore. I won't be able to sleep now.

A couple useful items for all hobbies, thread gages. Paired with calipers, you can determine any thread size and thread pitch.
