LSA equivalent?

Used up the last of the bottle I had. In the AR15 I always liked how it stayed in place even after the kids try to shoot up all my ammo over a weekend. Is there a modern equivalent? Didn’t really think the CLP did as good a job as it is trying to be three things in one. I have a good cleaner in Ed’s Red just need a new lube. Thanks

Mobil 1 Synthetic oil.

And you can get some Mobil 1 Synthetic Red Grease, mix with Mobil 1 oil,...until you get a red mixture about the consistency of honey. Makes a really good lube for AR's or any firearm.

Mobil 1 oil and even the mix/ Synthetic oil and synthetic grease works in low temps.

Real cheap too, ....far cheaper than gun oils.

I use Mobil 1 grease and oil in my M1A, various AR15's, an AR10, and my AK's, Glocks and a Kimber 1911.

Works for me, very cost effective compared to commercial oils, and I don't really care if anyone says, "It is bad for your gun,...don't do it....wont work,....or....this $15 for 2 ounces of Frog Sweat lube is the best!"

Mobile one gets another vote. It won't get gummy with age, heat or cold.

For a good gun grease I use Lucas red and tacky. They also make a high pressure tacky grease as well. Last time Sportsmans guide sold LSA they sold out in the quart size before I could get a couple quarts. So bought a half dozen 4oz plastic bottles of LSA. I have used CLP for years as a gun oil especially in my 45's which I used to shoot a bunch. There are a few websites that still have LSA for sale. Google is your friend. Frank

Another second for Mobil 1 Synthetic oil. FAR cheaper than all the other over-priced gun oils and lubes and does a first-rate job in the AR15 platform, hot weather or in extreme cold. Where grease is called for, Mobil 1 Red Synthetic Grease is the real deal and nothing on the market today is more effective, in my humble opinion.

5 w 20 synthetic oil with a couple globs of STP in it then add some Marvils Miracle Oil to the consistency you want. Great stuff on AR's.

I use Ed's Red for bore cleaning. It is good as a preservative as well (not long term).

Point oiling, ATF. When I need a greasy type either STP or lithium grease.

For something like my semi-auto pistols or bolt assemblies I use a dry lube spray.

Agreed, Ed's Red for cleaning, and for oiling I just use a 50/50 mix of 15w-40 oil and ATF (both full synthetic).

I think any of the greases already mentioned here would be excellent choices where grease is called for.
