Me too, I have carried them for 30+ years and have tightened scores of screws over the years with mine. I have an old Schrade sharp finger that I got for free that rides along with me when I hunt. (Remember when Guns and Ammo used to give away gifts for renewing subscriptions.)

I carry a Victorinox Companion and a Buck folder with clip in my right front pocket.
The little Swiss army knife has been in My pocket since 1966. The big clip knife since the late 1980's.
Found out that spyderco does NOT stand behind their products and I've had 3 Benchmades break off their belt clips.
The Buck I've worn for 5 years without a failure.
Had a Buck 110 since Xmas 1968. On it's 2nd sheath now.

I might have a knife problem. Favorite? Well I carry a Kershaw Blur or a Spyderco most often, but i also have 3-4 other Kershaw autos that will go on occasion. I have a drawer with many more expensive knives that I don't like to carry because they're too nice. Isn't that just stupid? They're meant to be used and cut stuff but my weird OCD alter ego doesn't want me to hurt one of the "good one's". I'm gonna have to have a talk with that guy if I can find him.

My absolute favorite was a Cold Steel San Mai III folder. I loaned it to a co-worker, and then changed jobs, and shortly after he retired, so I never got it back. Folding Tanto. Tough enough to use as a prybar, sharp enough to cut anything I needed to cut. Could be opened one-handed. There's one similar to it on Ebay right now, can't afford it.
I honestly can't say that I have a favorite knife. There are some patterns I have always favored over others though. Most of my life, it has always been a stockman or a trapper pattern. They just seem to work for me as a general knife. Then, I have a good selection of other patterns for different purposes. They run the gamut from pen knives to an 11" Frank B. stag handled stiletto automatic I was gifted with from a dear friend. Brands and steels are a touchy subject for many. It's just my 2 cent's worth, but a good quality pocket knife will last many years if properly used and maintained. As far as using my pocket knife for anything other than a cutting instrument, that's what my Leatherman multi tool is for.

when in school working on the farms I carried barlow the ones you got for $1 from the jar. then. found a buck single blade trapper. it rusted I cleaned it up and used it for years. then a sharade Lb3 . then 11 years ago I won a buck371 stock man at shooting match. I still carry it today.
I have a bunch of pocket knives. I really like the Case Stag Handled Series and have most of them. I don't use them, they just sit in the box in a drawer.
However I have carried at least one knife everyday of my life. That carry knife has evolved over the years, as most were lost due to falling out of pockets. Now they all have clips that keep them in place.
I now carry two knives every day and have for the last 15-20 years. One is a box knife a "Superknife" that uses replaceable blades, and it is the most used everyday opening boxes and cutting cardboard. Had it for 17 years now. Best Box Knife out there and the original design that used replaceable blades. All the rest are knockoffs. It is in the left pocket.
The other one is a CRKT folder that was given to me by a Ruger Rep as a "Friend of Ruger." Which I am! This knife keeps an edge better than anything I've ever used. It is easy to open and close one handed and rides in the right pocket. I use it most opening mail but eating steaks is also done as well as anything that needs to be cut like rope or ? Had it for 10 years now and it only gets the edge touched up on ceramic sticks about 2-3 times a year. It holds an edge better than any knife I have ever bought or made.
I also made Custom Knives from 1984 to 1988 and have them too, but none were folders and as such were awkward to carry daily.

Have a no name SS folder, about 2 1/4" blade. Replaced my old GI stainless that had a 3" blade, awl, can opener and screwdriver, used to be issued to us when I was in EOD. Called them demo knives as they came in the demo tool kit. Had two of them and the spring that tensionedthe blades finally broke and they are no longer made, bummer.
der one in my pocket. I've about a dozen that are laying around the house, first one I come to in morning goes in pocket

Favorite was an old timer trapper but lost it of course. I carried Spyderco for some time but couldn't afford to lose them, four in the woods, so switched this year to a Byrd. Very nice pocket knives hold an edge and sharpen easily but don't cost as much but sold as a sub brand of Spyderco. Essentially the same knives with a cheaper steel.
Wife did buy me a knife that takes replaceable blades for Christmas last year and it is scaple sharp. Like it but if you have no blades it's useless.

Mine is a little Gerber 500 "Danner Boots" folder that I got free with a pair of boots a long, long time ago. Looks like it's a collectors item now. It's a great little knife.
I've stopped carrying a pocket knife in favor of a Leatherman tool. It just does so much more
Anything Victorinox and usually in pairs. I have a Victorinox tinker that I use constantly through out the day at work.

As with about everyone, I have half a dresser drawer full. Buck, Klein, Boker, Schrade/Uncle Henry, Victorinox, SOG, Case, some vintage German stuff and I don't know what else. What I carry and have carried for over 50 years is a medium stockman either Case or Uncle Henry/Schrade. On onee Schrade I carried for a couple decades I had sharpened the clip point blade so much it was about 3/16 to 1/4 in. wide. Boy that thing skinned a ton of muskrats, 'coon, beaver and mink...and more than a few deer and foxes. Finally retired it for a Case....wore it thin and now have another Uncle Henry. It's a "two blade" stockmanbecause somehow I broke off the sheep's foot blade. No matter, never used it much anyway.

Victorinox Tinker. Small enough to not be noticed in my pocket and a bunch of functions. Big enough to gut and remove head from a caribou. Has the phillips screw driver instead of the worthless to me corkscrew. Been carrying one since the early 80s. It goes with me every where I wear pants.
