Haven't been fishing in my favorite place on earth ( the outer banks of NC ) in 6 years , wifey said go enjoy yourself so I took the 9 hr drive south last week to Buxton NC for some relaxation in the sun and sand for the week . Didn't fill all the coolers like I wanted Due to the rough surf that made it hard to hold bottom even with a 8oz sinker but hit the piers and sound and had a good week catching a bunch of different fish ,highlights were a 22" blue fish caught with my med weight bass rod off the pier seems like you always hook the biggest fish on the lightest rod ! Lol on the last day I got a beautiful 22" speckled trout out of the sound man was that thing chunky with thick fillets . Caught enough pompano , spot and sea mullet for a few meals, also caught some nice flounder but back they went as they were outa season . Anyone else on here do any surf fishing ?
