I'll enter with a rifle. Sounds like it would be fun. All my 1" groups have been from the bench. Before my big accident we used to shoot from underneath a horse with one eye closed and using a slingshot but just can't do er like that anymore.

I need to work up a decent cast load for my Ruger #1 in 300 Winchester cause that rifle is hands down the most balanced and off hand freindly rifle I've ever fired.

I can easily group inside 3" at 100 with 150gr remington corelocks and that rifle standing offhand.

A 3 inch group would have easily taken the gold in the 50 yard offhand match David R hosted. I can't remember the results from the waksupi matches, but I believe the winner was just over an inch for 10 shots at 100 yards benched.

Scoped? My rifles scoped. -And we're talking cast only right?.. cause my No 1 groups touch at 100 (off the bench) with copper. Not fair for cast..

So far I have not been able to find a cast load using WW for this rifle. Lino yes, but I don't like shooting lino.

Next would be my .358 Win. I'm pretty sure I've shot 3" at 50 off hand with that rifle. Are we calling a 50yrd off hand scoped rifle match? ....

I recall it as a scoped rifle and yes, cast boolits. 10 shots in just over an inch is fair to middlin' for any ammunition.

I'd do it but suspect you will have to choose a class for it and change things up on a regular basis, as everyone will want to shoot something different.

Historically, there are 3 or 4 contests (100 yard benched scope, 50 yard offhand iron, etc.) and the shooting period goes for a couple or three months to get best turnout. Most guys don't like to post their mailing address and prefer to give that out via IM.

Sorry for the delay guys, hurt myself which caused my to loose all kinds of work. Anyway.....

How 'bout pistols (shooting cast of course) @ 50 ft (it's winter out, indoor ranges are a touch warmer)

target is an sr-21 printed on 8.5x11 (or you can buy an sr-21 if you wish)

Shoot it.. 5 rounds/target submit your best 2 target. NO CHEATING

Submit with all your info (cal., load, and boolit)

You can scan it and email it to me owner@DLRC.biz
or snail mail them to me

Winner gets bragging rights, and we'll see if we can't scrounge something up.

Will figure out how to get the target on here in a few minutes, its a big file.

enter even if you think you are no good. After a few of these, we might have a random drawing for some stuff, whether you shot good or not.

Let's end this at Jan 31

Shoot for score or group? Sum of score or average of group on 2 targets?

Separate classes for iron sights and "other"?

    Offhand or rested?

    Centerfire only? Muzzleloaders? Rimfires?

My bull barrel 38 would be a good one to try...

A further thought. 50 feet? I'm not going to take a tape measure out to the range to figure that one out, nor am I going to handicap myself by shooting at 25 yards. I can measure off 16 1/2 paces which would be ABOUT 50 feet, how's that?

What's the duration of this match? I leave for Pa. in the morning and won't be back for a month or so. It's snowing sideways outside right now.
