    savage scope base size

    I bought Savage mark11 fv, scope bases factory mounted. Are they Weaver style bases I have to buy new mounts, I'm not sure what to buy.

    Google Weaver scope base chart and scroll down to Savage. You will need to know the action length and when it was made.

    Yes they are Weaver type bases.

    Pre2003 is flat rear base. Post 2003 is round bases.

    I have a set of leupold rifleman bases for pre 2003, if you want them PM your address and I’ll get them out to ya free of charge.

    1. Flat rear base only applies to older Savage 110 high power rifles

    2. Eveready: To answer your question, INdeed, my Savage MKII FVLSS came with "Weaver style" bases, but I had some trouble with
    Weaver style rings clamping well, so: I removed them and found the Weaver Number 42 bases front and rear fit my Savage MKII FVLSS rimfire rifle perfectly
