Love it! I picked it up in a gun store and couldn't put it down even though I knew there were things wrong. I made an offer I figured they wouldn't take. They came back $25 higher and I accepted. It would only shoot 3 rounds before the cylinder locked up. That was why it looked like it had not fired a full box of ammo yet. I think it was 13 years old at the time. The barrel was trimmed crooked, like .002 and the cylinder was so tight powder kernels would jam between the barrel and cylinder. A little precision stoning of the rear barrel face fixed that. Also firing pin protrusion was not long enough and I fixed that.

The cylinder locks up like the door on an Imperial. The bore is .430 and like a mirror, EDM machined. The throats are reamed .4313 and the forward drive band of the later H&G 503 sits just inside the throats. Oh, and the cylinder turns in the proper direction for a revolver with the crane on the left side of the gun. LOL

Oh ya. Best trigger out of the box of any revolver I've had. DA and SA.

I wish you luck with it.
I have one and it shoots better than me.
It resides with the other snakes I have.

I have one and it's a fine very accurate shooter. When I got it n the early 90's I paid a little over $500. for it and I thought I was crazy paying that for a revolver but I wanted it for deer hunting.
Earlier this year I was shooting it at the range and a guy came and asked me if I would sell it. I said no, I use it for deer and he said I will give you $1500. for it, I said no. Well when I got home I looked around to see what they are selling for now. I'm glad I said NO.

The Anaconda is a beautiful gun but the shot themselves in the foot with those factory grips. Never Split Rubber Grips on the Backstrap of a Magnum Revolver! LOL I think inconsistent quality control was a problem too. Most of the factory work on my gun was perfect but there were a couple glitches.

I had Jack First wind me a couple mainsprings for the Anaconda and they were exactly like the one in the gun. I was still getting light strikes after increasing the firing pin protrusion to .050". 2 Ruger Redhawk mainsprings was just enough more to pop Tula Primers.

    Mal,
The only issue I had with mine was using a load of H-110 and some unburned powder got under the ejector star and that caused the sticking. Yes the tolerance between the cylinder and barrel is very tight but I checked it with a feeler gauge and the rotation is true 360º
I never had a misfire and the only powder I use is HP-38 or 231 Win.
The accuracy is great at 50 yards using a wrist rest and that puts 12 inside 2"
The only other center fire pistol that will better this is the S&W 52 Master in that bunch above.
