That's a nice mold for a good sized storage ingot. I'd be afraid, though, that an ingot that size would freeze the melt or at least drop the temp out of the casting range if added cold, and might be awkward to handle easily if preheated. For casting out of a 20# pot I'd like to stay smaller (maybe for a Magma 40# pot, that'd be just the ticket).

And while I'm not as cheap as during my salad days. I still think $50 is a lot for a mold, especially since it's just something to hold and cool the lead into a convenient shape.

I’ve got a couple of muffin trays and throw the different lead ingots into designated 20 ltre drums.

I have lead envy looking at some of the beautiful stacks of segregated alloy mixes that have been posted.

I just mix in the pot what I think I need at the time.

I have kept all my Lino in the letters strips from the printers I got them as is so easy to add a bit if when needed.

My stash is too pitifull to send a pic of.

That reminds me I’ll have to do some smelting before summer comes.
If it stops raining that is.

I use aluminum muffin pans. I have a bunch I picked up nearly free at a yardsale. I also have a Lyman ingot mould. I generally store lead in buckets. I don’t care if it stacks or not.

The trouble with the angle iron moulds is you can only stack them in a triangle shape unless you use a crate/box of some sort.
Instead of a triangle, you can put down two layers, triangle point up, then triangle point down, leaving a flattish surface, then rotate the next two layers 90 degrees, doing the same, if needing to maximize storage vertically. It may not form a perfect lead cube, but will quickly be more stacked weight than is comfortable to move by hand.

The corncob moulds are designed for baking cornbread in the shape of half an ear of corn. Wherever you buy cast iron skillets.

Also, I prefer RCBS or Lyman ingot moulds. Don't much like the Lee. Ingots from either stack like the ones from angle iron - one face up, next face down. Very little wasted space.

I have an assortment, I use diff molds for diff alloys to keep track. Lyman/RCBS for pure lead. Custom alum squares for range scrap & custom channel iron molds for clip ww. I like rect molds for best fit in the 20# casting pot.

I'm another thats tried about everything. As I posted earlier I have settled on the Lyman type mold. If I were to start over I probably would weld up some angle iron molds like OS OK has pictured.

Just a caution to those of you that plan to use cast iron cookware: do some research before using older pieces, it may be valuable.
