Set your camera for lower quality photos. Yours are each 400k+ in file size and 1024 pixels wide in physical size. People on dialup can't/won't download them. Circa 100k file size and 800 pixels width is good for the web. Big photos are good for printing hard-copy.

Lyman originally used 31141 and for some reason later added the "0". They did the same to the old 3118 which is now 311008. Don't know why.

I think the number change was to make all the current mold numbers consistant...Robin

My 40143 also has an extra "0" in it, what they'd do to the 3115 LY would be a wonder if they still made it.
The 2 mentioned are in original (pre-Lyman) Ideal tools I use for 38WCF &32 S&W.

    Just a quick test

I took the 30/30 Win out with it's tang sight at 50 Yda I shot 10 over top of 10 Gr Unique and 10 over top 9 Gr unique The 10 gr loads were scattered in a 12" groop the 9Gr loads calmed down to about a 3" groop not what I would call acceptable. I will retest with the use of my NEW Lyman M Die and I will also try 8Gr Unique to see if the load calms down. MORE TO COME! J.Michael

I missed out on the group buy, but sure would like to try some of these checkless 041's. Anybody out there willing to sell me 50 or 100 as cast plus postage?

Tried again with the Lyman M die

BUY the M die. It works. I just bought one in every caliber I cast.
I tried the 10.0 Unique load again and Green Dot loads from 8 to 10Gr in .5 grain The unoque load went down to about 3" form a foot Just for useing the M die. The 8.5gR Green dot did about 1.5 " at 50. The 9.5 did the same but that is where flyers started. I am casting water quenched bullets but I am not happy with this batch of lead I am useing I am sure I will get better results with diferent lead. This bullet will show promise . My 2 30/30's that I am shooting still need work I have a bad resyriction where the rear sight slot is and that has to be corrected and my other gun has a restriction I can feel with a tight patch but I have not been able to figure it out just yet. No tests in a micro grove yet. More to come. J.Michael

How are you guys lubing these boolets? It appears that the metplat flat is a little bit bigger than the Lyman 311041--either that or my top punch needs to be opened up a little. I've used the Lyman No. 8 top punch with my Lyman mold for years. I've got two--one leaves a little ring showing on the ogive after sizing. The other works OK with the Lyman boolet. What's proper for the PB boolet, top punchwise? Or are you guys lubing it with the Lee setup?
