I have seen little posted about results with this mold and since I'm temporarily shelving my attempts to shoot cast in my 9mm, it is time to move on.
I've found this brass mold - my first - to be very tempermental at lower temps and the higher I raised my pot temp, the better it performed. Casting between 800 and 820 degrees provided the best boolits and I could never cast fast enough to get frosting. Alloy is 50/50 COWW/PB/2% SN, ice-water dropped after coating. I intend to shoot these in both .40 and 10mm, primarily for bullseye matches. These were powder coated yesterday with the hopes of shooting some today. .40 will be first as the press is set up for small primers.
If anyone else has some experience with this boolit, I'd sure like to hear about it.
