If you're gonna be stupid, don't pull up short. Saddle up and ride it all the way in.
357 mag followed by 308 win then 45-70 .
For me, it is 38 special by a country mile, I have loaded nigh onto 100,000 of them over the last 45 years. 2nd would be the 30-30, at around 8,000. Nothing else I have reloaded exceeds the 5000 round mark, though the 45 ACP and 357 come close. 44 Special is creeping up there, as well.

For me it's 38 special, I have about 3000 44 mags to load but we are not allowed to travel or shoot here at the moment so it makes it hard to work up a load.
.38 Super...used to shoot 20K rounds a year when I was competing back in the 1980s and 90s... Even had a Dillon 650 for several years that all it ran was Supers...

For rifle it would be a toss up between 22-250 Remington and 30-06 Springfield, both of which I love to load for and shoot. As for pistols it would be one of mine but now that my wife has a 9mm, it is the most loaded and shot pistol round. I have two 9mm's myself but the missus goes through it like it's water.
Rifle would be .308 but that’s because I loaded a ton in a couple big batches for plinking ammo years ago.
The most loaded by time spent and most frequently shot one the years would be 45/70.
Now if you were counting pistol cartridges shot in rifles then 38 takes the cake.
It would be between the .38 Special, .45acp/ar or possibly the 30-06. I have loaded thousands of each. james
.308 and .38spl
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7
25-20, 32-20, 32 h&r & 30-30
For the handgun: 45 ACP with 9mm behind that.
Rifle: .556 with 300blk behind it.
38 Special
Then 45 ACP
then 9mm
.41spl.............
Prairie dog caliber, .223 Remington.
2000-3000 per year.

Recently it has been 270 Win to develop a good load for NCBS in a few weeks hopefully for the 400 yard iron sight shoot. 45LC otherwise.
Most is 45 ACP, second is 44 mag, then 30-06, others are just enough to plink with.
38 special. Most of them go through my Rossi M 92.
It will take 10 years or more for any metallic cartridge to get above the 12 gauge I have loaded.
Riffle or pistol t I bet it will be either 38sp or 9mm
Rifle: .45-70 for a Trapdoor and a Sharps, most with bp and a postal. Pistol/rifle is .44 WCF for SASS, 4 rifles and 6 pistols. I have liked .45-70 and .44 WCF for many years but the .32 ACP has found it's way in to my fun shooting round.
