    44/100 ballard paper patched bullet

I am looking for some bullets for a 44/100 ballard. The bullet that I am trying to duplicate is a 485gr,1.385 in length, and .443 in dia. cupped base. This bullet is from a # 7 ballard longrange. Does anyone have a supplier or mould for this bullet. Thanks,45/70sharpshooter

Old West Moulds out of Fruita Co. offers a .435 bullet based off of an original Sharps bullet. It's hollow based and adjustable so you can get the length/weight you want.
I've been shooting that bullet wrapped in heavy paper to get to .450 with some decent results in 45-70 and 90.
Wrapped in onion skin it comes up right at 445, which might just work like a champ in your rifle. I gave some of those bullets unwrapped to a friend that shoots a 44-90 in a Shiloh, and he reported getting groups down to 2 and 3 inches at 200 yds.
Long range rules, the rest drool.
