I decided I wanted to actually load some test batches of some of the bullets I’ve cast or otherwise acquired. The MTM case of 100 contains half GC HPs and half PB solids from beagle’s customized Lyman 313631 mould. The wooden loading block has 50 rounds of RNs from my antique “Peanut Handle” mould from S&W... I felt the need to go old school and they had been cast for a year or more for a previous project.

Loaded up my first bottleneck rifle cartridges and sanded a seater stem flush so I won’t have “ring around the collar”.

Twice baked boolits. I forgot the proper temp and had to reheat them. Same purple as the above post but mixed in a little black & blue.

I have been making new pins for .416 mold and I decided to try my first HP conversion on one of my fav. 44 cal. bullets. This is a Lee 240gn 2R mold. The plan was to just HP the one side but "someone" did not get it chucked up in the lathe straight so hole was drilled off. If I went with a bigger post I should be able to salvage it but I do not think I can make it much bigger than it is now without making it look like a HP wadcutter, it is more for playing and for groundhogs it frags real easy.

I don't know if this is running into May submissions but I wanted to post these pictures somewhere. It was My Grandfathers deer rifle, I would visit it in his attic when ever I was permitted to do so and it found its way to me a few years ago. We hunted together when he was able but were in shotgun only territory, Michigan. He would tell me about going to the UP on the ferry with his rifle and having a high old time. Any way I have let it sit in a case in a box and neglected it mostly until last week when I got it out and cleaned it up, My grandfather was a believer in slathering his guns with linseed oil which was pretty well alligatored and looking bad, no rust though. Here are some pictures of it as cleaned up, down to the original finish, no sand paper involved.

Dr No, I don't see one of these in your picture. It is a Modern & Bond double cavity for the 32-20. I have never used it but I think it casts 100 & 120 grain bullets. The second picture is a Cramer three cavity that casts two 30 caliber bullets and one that casts a 454 revolver bullet.

Bought a unique little mould from here a while back and had Erik Ohlen make a few HP pin sets to experiment with...he does such fine work!

All of those molds are __a big mess.__

A wooden frame, some 6" sections of white PVC pipe, and you can clear that mess off your work bench!
If that, what does not kills us, makes us stronger, why ain't I superman?
