Toughness of PC’d bullets - photos

I dug few of my cast bullets from a tree trunk that I occasionally use as target holder, you know walking with my hunting dog in the woods....shooting from field position...photos prove toughness/bonding of polyester coating.

    Photos....

All the bullets found today were shoot 6-12 months ago. I am adding few photos from few months ago...same trunk.

MP copy of H&G#503, MP HG#278 and 357-130 NLG

I like photos like that and nice groups by the way , informal shooting and having fun is what it is all about for me , I prefer solitude and small groups of close friends or family to events and all the noise and people , thank you for the post and pictures .

    Looks good.
Plenty accurate & ya got the speed up.
I'd keep that combination of everything and even hunt small stuff with it.

Impressive how much of the PC remains in the sharp grooves the rifling makes.
I would have thought it would be all worn away
    Thanks for posting/starting this thread
Size/Prime a few cases when starting off with a progressive and put them aside. You can plug them back into the process when a bad/odd case screws up in the priming station and continue loading.

You have the proof you know how to make a polymer jacket. Looks like your shooting ain't too shabby either.

The neat thing about those reclaimed bullets is they come with saw dust already installed. No need to add more.

Thanks to all for nice words, I do go to proper shooting range often but it’s impossible to recover any bullets so photo of that tree trunk was just to show from where they were recovered.

Distance was 7yards and I put 15 rounds into left target and 11 into right target standing on uneven ground, 9mm G17.

Back to PC toughness; I passed by another place where I do from time to time set some target and found one bullet laying on the ground. It was shoot on October 19 by my lady friend, .357 Ruger Blackhawk with MP 358-165 Larsen. She can shoot! See target.

    Ah. Almost forgot-The bullet

And few 220grs HP recovered from paper.

Both Purple (High SB/Sn alloy) and Blue (20:1) were around 1350fps. Bolt action RAR.

    Green - subsonic, 1000fps

Solid - subsonic, didn’t have GC

Those non-gc subs mushroomed well, last pic indicate rifling engaged only the bottom third of the boolit.
Need to get one of them mold for my RAR & AR pistols. Nice work, now shoot 'em suppressed!

This is how they were designed; base not protruding below neck, designed for smooth feeding without problems with stacking in magazines

Good show. Same with my slugs. My boolits (the ones I CAN find!!!!) look like they have been to Hades and back. Cracked/split/splattered/broken.......but the PC is still in tact!!!!! that proves if a polymer jacket is applied and cured properly, it is the best thing since sliced bread for us shooters. No greasy mess or barrels to de-lead. Just good clean fun shootin'!

Can you shoot these as unsized and powder coated? In other words - cast, powdercoat and load?
