Had been looking at Kimber Stainless Target 10mm Long Slides for several months. Almost pulled the trigger on one for $849.00 on GunBroker a couple of weeks ago but someone beat me to it as I was procrastinating... Would have been right at $900 with shipping and dealer fee...

Turned out to be a lucky thing.. A few days later I was in a big gun shop that I had not been in since last January. There on the used shelf was just what I was looking for...LNIB...$750.00 out the door...

Got to shoot it yesterday...makes the 10mm fun to shoot...

Nowadays I am only buying 1911s. Bought six this year; these are the two most recent, both Hillsdale/Les Baers, an SRP and a Tactical Defense Pistol in .45ACP.

An old commercial 1911 from 1916. Back story sees it going to El Paso then probably over the border where it was nickel plated and picked up it's ivory. Back across the border to El Paso sometime back. The previous owner had it for many years.

Does a T/C Contender barrel count? A 10-inch .30-40 Krag (rechambered by SSK from .30 Herrett) recently followed me home.

In the last week I traded for two 629 .44 Mag Mountain Guns. The first was made in 2002 and is high polish finish and has the Hillary Hole, the one I got yesterday was made in 2000 with the standard finish and no hole. I'm hoping for a couple days of no rain next week to get to the range and try them out. GF

Got rid of my SP101 in .357. Not fun to shoot in .357. Liked the size and other properties enough to get a replacement coming in in .38 Special only. This way I cannot even attempt to put .357 in it even if I am feeling froggy.

Sent off the check for a used Redhawk, 4 inch barrel, 45 Colt. These can be loaded pretty stout, almost reaching 454 Casull levels if you are so inclined. Previous owner already had the cylinder opened up to .4525 and reports it shoots great with cast bullets from 260-340 grains sized to .452.
