Leaving in about 10 minutes to go pick up a 7.5” blued Super Blackhawk! I’m usually a 45 Colt guy, but I haven’t played with a 44 Mag. In years. Looking forward to seeing what she likes!

The last handgun I bought is a Colt Gold Cup Lite. Then I installed a set of Hogue Laser Enhanced grips.
Only problem I encountered was finding a holster than fit the hammer. Many holsters listed as fitting Gold Cup, but the strap would not snap, no matter how much I stretched the leather.
    Bummer.

Colt Anaconda, .44 Magnum, 6-in bbl. Smooth double-action, crisp single-action. No modifications. Love it. Only wish I could have gotten it in 5-in, which I regard as about ideal for general carry and use.

Traded into a BG38; below is the initial testing that I did from a rested position... I need much more practice to eliminate sloppiness on my part.

This little beastie beat up the web area of my shooting hand (big ole flap of skin came loose) with the original stocks.

Since then I've updated the stocks and today I installed an XS Big Dot front sight which is easier to pick up with my aging eyes, now to get out and do some testing

1957 Ruger Blackhawk .44 Magnum that had the barrel shortened to 4 5/8"... Came with the original walnut grips but put these on as they fit my hand better...

Traded into this BG38 as the previous owner did NOT like how it handled; updated the stocks & installed an XS Big Dot front sight for my aging eyes. In the pic I'm chasing a load that would closely match my factory wadcutters... I think I've found it

1935-vintage Colt Officer's Model .22. Minty condition and came with a Colt factory letter stating the date, etc., and who the consignee was (Bekeart, in San Francisco) and the buyer (a Captain Frank in Quincy, CA). At some point it was fitted with basic King sights front and rear.

    Completes my triumvirate of 1930's Colt Officer's Models - .22, .32, .38:

Now to start on post-war OM's!!

A good old Ruger GP100, fixed sight, half lug.
Only a fool would attempt it, and God help me I am that fool.

    Cool

A 2000 French Railway Police SP-101 that was re-imported back into the U.S.A.

I cleaned & shot it for functionality & then made it my own; new springs/shims are inbound

Is there a quick, easy way to identify it as an actual foreign police-issued model? I know the Trausch grips are a clue, but those can of course be easily installed on any SP-101.

I finally bought the Heckler & Kock P7 that my friend was selling. I took it to the range a few days ago and it is as good as they say, though there is definitely a short learning curve to the squeeze cocker action. It does not like low power rounds, slow powder, or dirty powder. Very little recoil, and very accurate. I felt no heat from the chamber above the trigger guard.

I didn't see that at first. Different countries used the SP-101 and I don't know if they all had the lanyard or not.

A 380, Sig P232 SL, followed me home. Like a Walther PP, only slightly larger.
