I recently joined the ranks of the 38 long club. Of course the first thing you need is a bullet. I started looking for the right mold and went over to Old West Moulds. Bernie has a nice 150 grain bullet that should duplicate the original. I ordered up some samples to try before getting the mold.
I built up a dummy round and remembered I had a vintage umc 38 short round laying around somewhere. When I found it I realized Bernie knocked this out of the park again.
Left is original UMC 38 s&w, next is mocked up 38 long with OWM bullet. Next it's the original outside lubed UMC 38 Short and the OWM heeled 38 150 grain bullet. The profile is actually closer than the photo shows.
This will go great in my 36 remington clone and the kirst cylinder.
