My intention is for a low recoil 1100fps or slower loading for the 450 bushmaster. I used accurate 2015 powder because I have 8 1lb contianers that was free. It must be very old since the price tag on the cans $13.50 per pound. I will update this thread with chronograph data later. Any advice on proceeding would be great.
Firearm is a Ruger American Rifle
Powder coated solid bullet seated to 2.20
25grs of accurate 2015
Primer remington 7-1/2
No chronograph
Near full penetration of a ream of copy paper placed 12" from muzzle.
Bullet expanded over 1 inch
Primer is still completely rounded as can be seen in the photos.
Case had no soot on the neck.
A minimal amount of unburnt powder ejected from the barrel as can be seen by the area around the bullet hole.
All in all not bad for a single round test.
