SOLD: T/C Hawken or Trade for Mini-14

    SOLD

    Very Nice Rifle.
This is a Thompson Center Hawken with a custom barrel.
This started life as a 28" 50 Cal.
The barrel was sent to Robert Hoyt and rebored to .54 cal.
    1:60 twist with .012 grooves
Wood: Very nice with a few marks.
Barrel: Again rebored by Robert Hoyt about 2 months ago, only to the range twice, shoot's excellent.
    Bluing is about 95%
Double set trigger and lock work perfect, could use a better ram rod.
    $460 Shipped/Insured
Or trade toward a nice Mini-14
    More Pics, just ask.

How does it shoot with round ball ?? I know T/C Hawkens always shot very well with conicals.

Shoots great, The reason I had it bored to .54 was to shoot round ball.
Factory T/C's are known for very shallow rifling and a tad fast twist to get the best round ball accuracy.
This is now .012 rifling with 1:60 twist, perfect for round ball.
.530 ball and .018 pillow ticking with mutton tallow for lube and never a burnt or torn patch.
I could actually reuse the patches if need be.
