CLOSED: New Pointy 500 S&W Mag boolit

This pointy boolit is designed for the 500 S&W Magnum. It will be made by MP-Molds (Miha)
It's a show stopper at the range. Everyone winces when they see it.

It casts at 390 grains, lubed and gas checked. It makes a clean semi wad cutter style hole in the paper target.

Here's the design. The two design options are GAS CHECKED or Plain Base.

Since this is a solid bullet, we only need a few to sign up for it to go active. This one will NOT have any hollow point options, since what would be the sense of it. Pointy is good in this instance!
I suggest that you 500 S&W Magnum folks get in quick, while you can. I'm expecting that once this hits the active column, it will close fast.

It will be a 2 cavity or 4 cavity mold (80.75 EUROS for the 4 cavity, and 63.75 EUROS for the two cavity), in brass, available in gas checked or plain base, please advise which you are interested in. You cannot combine gas checked and plain base in the same mold. Those are the 15% discounted group buy prices.
You can also order your mold to include a set of handles, normally 23 EUROS for only 20 EUROS, and can also specify that it gets shipped via DHL, which is three days door to door, for only $7 US, additional. That could be especially helpful as we get nearer the holidays on this one.

Here's what I need from everyone, please:

    1) Screen Name
    2) How many cavities you want for your mold (options are two or four)
    3) Gas Checked or Plain Base
    4) Disguised email address that can be used to send you your PayPal invoice
    5) Your Zip Code so we can send you tracking details when it ships

Interesting. Whats the cast weight and is there any advantage to the pointy bullet?

They tend to shoot pretty accurately from my experience with the pointy 358193 and 429303, and they cut wadcutter style holes.

Practical purpose? There probably isn't one, but that shouldn't stop you. They look cool and are pretty eye catching. Ballistically they don't seem to do anything other than punch a hole.

I had an NEI Spitzer mold and while it was quite accurate it wasn't very pointy, and for some reason that drove me nuts so I sold it off. I still have a couple hundred of them loaded hot with h110 and they do shoot quite well...

I've been meaning to buy a NOE spitzer 500 for a long time but I'll sign up for this. A 2 cav gc for now for me.

Here is a video with an extremely similar bullet.

They weigh about 390 gr, cast and lubed, with a gas check.
This design is modified from another mold, and the point is even longer. They will chamber in any revolver shooting thre 500 S&W Magnum. They will also work OK in a 50 Beowulf.

Advantage to the point? Hahaha, just the shock and AWE of it. Everyone wyho sees it says something to the effect, "I sure wouldn't want to get hit in the a$$ with that thing!"

Its very similar to the NOE. Since this is a discussion thread, it would be nice it the rear driving band was extended to bring the weight up to 425 grain. Just my 2 cents worth. What do you think Duke ?

No, the rear driving band and the LUBE groove are, as they should be for the gas check or plain base and the lube volume sufficient for good lubrication. This nose is pointier and longer than any other version of bullet.
So, the design stands as shown in the development drawing.

I thought there would be WAY more interest in this one. This design is a serious penetrator!

We will get there. It might just take a while. 500 buys seem to take off once you reach a certain critical mass of buyers.

I'm already using this style of boolit for my 44 mag. Would be sweet if I had one for my Swedish roller too.

Ehcd is correct, once it gets to the ACTIVE area, more people will see it and jump in. For some reason, not everyone scans the DISCUSSION area. Because this one is a solid design, it will take less people to get it active.
    Patience is a virtue.
