Lets discuss pin Options.....I want a shallow Penta for this one. Imagine the normal sized penta pin cropped off to a flat in the center. Will still expand but not break apart. Oreo has made a similar pin in the past.

    Your thoughts.

I like the idea of a shallow penta. Would rather have expansion and more weight than have it break apart.

Taken care of gents. 45.2.1 agreed to do this design so we will have some flexibility in the finished product.

I vote for 250 grains as a PB Solid. Should get it down to 235 with the biggest hollow point. Anyone else?

Official drawing. This should be THE self defense boolit of choice!

If someone can figure out how to make the photo bigger please post.

Im going to ask him to make the mid size pin the shallow penta and narrow the HP to leave a little more meat on the Boolit and a little more weight What does the group think?

Is there any history behind this design, i.e. does anyone know how stable the boolit would be?

I shoot this boolit in an NOE design and in bought boolits from a member here (MAtts Bullets...great Boolits BTW).

It is stable with a full charge of 231@1400 FPS from a carbine and ragged hole accurate out to 50 yards. Still looking like a group at 75 yards and barely holding to a paper plate at 100. For the purpose of close in SPLATTTTT!!!!! it suits the purpose well. All pistol self defense ranges and varminting camp range from a rifle.
