What is it? I was given a large tin of it, and I'm wondering if it will make a good bullet lubricant ingredient.
I have enough NRA 50/50 to last me several more years, but I'm looking ahead.

From memory it is a synthetic wheel bearing grease
But I wasn't sure so I googled it and was right
http://www.mobil.com/Canada-English/...lgrease_28.asp
I have used a about 50/50 mix of wheel bearing grease and Bees wax for pistol loads up to 1700 fps
I have no plans on making another batch
It shot well and didn't lead
But it smoked and the oder was not as pleasent as alox
IMO not the best for indoor ranges if the ventalion isn't good

Not sure about bullet lube potential.
However, blended w/ Mobil 1 full synthetic oil in small batches - to the consistency of your choice, it makes a great gun lube for areas where plain oil isn't quite enough.
I use it on 1911's, revolvers. lever actions, ect.. Blended pretty much thin as you like, it puts down a very thin, resilient friction barrier - that does not migrate.
A little dab will do ya'.
