Anyone interested in a 200+gr .357 based off the old 358627? The original design has deceiving 2nd crimp groove but the only one that is correctly located per SAAMI is the top groove.
Looking for suggestions, ditch the lower groove? maybe an HP? If there is interest, I'll mock up some alternatives for a future active GB.
Loose bottom crimp groove and go with .180" top diameter HP with deep conical HP pin that goes to the 2nd crimp groove in depth. Also offering both plain base and gas check would be a good selling point. That should make the hollow pointed weight right at 180 grs which would be good medicine in 38 Special or 357
Could offer with shallow round HP for those who are looking for a good penetrator with less expansion properties.
Also we could lose the radius on the meplat giving it a true flat nose with sharp corners for cutting and creating cavitation effect for deep penetration on larger game
