    MFRB question

Noob shipping brass. There are two MFRB sizes. Does it matter which one is used? Does one have advatages over another?

    The first is11" x 8 1/2" x 5 1/2."
    The second is 13 5/8" x 11 7/8" x 3 3/8."

    Thanks.

Both are the same rate. Use whichever suits what you are shipping.

The first one is a Much stronger box for heavy stuff.

Also pending on how much brass you are shipping they have small flat rate bubble envelopes that are very strong for half the cost.

    Hope this helps.

I always use the square one and wrap 3 times in both top to bottom and around the circumference with packing tape.

Volume is the same. As previously mentioned, the flat rate padded envelope costs half as much and holds a lot of brass.

If the brass is under 15lbs, you can use a Regional Flat Rate box A, that is usually $10 or less, it depends on where you are. I am in Texas and shipping to Washington state or Maine, which is farthest northwest and northeast from me is $9.19 for one and $10 for the other. States that are maybe 2 states away are often $8+

And be sure you bag it. Heck, double bag it. Usually they will bust a box on a corner or two and this will keep em from trickling out.

The flatter rectagular mfrb is a buck or so cheaper.

Seems no matter what, those heavy boxes are handled roughly. Bag the brass well inside and do what you can to reinforce the exterior. Mine always look like the mail lady dropped mine off at 40 MPH.

get several of the tyvak bags .. Put the brass in these FIRST then in the MFRB or even the padded envelopes

The Tyvak bags will stop any brass loss

well if you do a lot of research there are several types . but ALL need taped heavy . there is an A and a B both come in different sizes but the weight changes, most are 10 to 15lbs range depends where you ship.
east to west have to watch middle can run same in both . just where you are located .
order them free . can get 25 at time and they do have uses for home stuff
