PC yesterday and ran out of daylight.
Got me to thinking: how long can PC bullets stay coated before they are cooked/baked/barbecued?
In other words could you PC them one evening and wait till the next day to put them in the oven?
thanks

I don't know by having done it but...I'd bet it would work just fine so long as they are covered from the humidity in the air circulation or placed in the oven with the door closed...shoot, why not try?
A good way for people who don't have a lot of time to see a project all the way through in one evening...good thinking!
Or just leave them in the PC container...?

There is one way to find out
I've left a batch in my shaking tub for a few days with no ill results. Not intentional, just forgot about em.

I recently ESPC'ed a bunch of boolits and baked them right away.
But I neglected to clean the tray that I used to spray the boolits on, but did not bake the boolits on the Spraying tray.
Normally when I am spraying the bullets, I scrape or brush off the oversprayed powder off the tray between batches.
But the last two sprayings, I did not clean the tray.
It is stuck and most of it will not just Fall off if I tip the tray on its side.
But the next morning, you could lift the tray and gently shake a good amount of the powder over to one corner of the tray.
That evening, almost all the powder except a Fine Dusting would just fall off if the tray was turned over but not tapped very hard.
The Fine dust was still staticly bonded and had to be brushed off with a paint brush.
We have very little Humidity here in Arizona and it has been above 105 for a week or more. ( I love the cool weather here this past week, now it is starting to get HOT )
So in My case, I would say you could safely PC the boolits and still have most of the powder stay on until baking within 24 hours.
I coat pans randomly and leave them in the garage up to a week before I put them in the oven. I have not had any issues doing it this way and find it easier to pop in and do a pan or two and until I have a few built up to cook. I live in MN so the humidity and temp varies quite a bit and doesn't seem to have any effects on the sitting bullets.
I only use Smokes powder so I cannot provide any intelligent information on other powders.
"Yes or no will almost always suffice as the answer"
after posing the question I PC another tray
Left one lone bullet sitting out in the garage with closed door overnight.
Still looks like it just came out of powder jar
think I'll put it in a safe place and see what happens.
from what Loudy13 ^ says this bullet should keep its coating

I have ran out of time before dinner and had to abandon a pan that wasn't baked yet. I just put them in the oven and left them overnight and baked the next day. No problems.
So to answer the OP's question: Yes.
KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.
gravity doesn't make the powder fall off so it will stay until mechanically removed. I have HF red still on the outside of the jug of my ES gun that is 6 mo. old, at least. Even wiping doesn't get it all.
Whatever!
