Of coarse this wont do anything for the pots that may be present. But a 24 hr soak in EvapoRust will leave the mold in the white with no rust. (No bluing either)

With more cavities then mine I hope. Should be a fine bullet, especially if not pushed too fast. I think it is an old black powder design. Your 38 Special, 20 grains of BP and that bullet might be a classic.

Yes. Start with the starting loads for the bullet of this weight and work up slowly. If accuracy is the top goal, a sweet spot will be found. At or near max loads in the 357 mag, this plain based bullet may (or not) have some trouble. Give it a try and remember, starting loads can be really accurate.

It's funny how that works. I've reloaded and cast for 9mm for quite some time. Nothing like $4.50/100 9mm. I can still shoot 9mm for less than the cost of Mini Mags.

    I received two molds yesterday.

My Accurate 45-200E and a NOE 360-136 SP. I ordered the NOE so I could surprise a shooting buddy with the boolits!

    My MP 359-115-BB arrived yesterday.

I'm going to try some lighter boolits in my 9mm firearms.

a lyman #358345 - it's supposed to be 115gr, kinda looks like the 452460. It should be fun to experiment with.

Today I received two brand new Lee molds from Titan reloading. Both Round ball, one .530" which is a fairly standard size for muzzle loaders, the other is a .319" which I was surprised they made these days. I plan to use it for my little 1849 Wells Fargo Colt.

These are the first new style Lee DC molds I have held in my hands. They look good but the rebate at the bottom for the alignment pins does seem strange.

I'll get them cleaned up and try a few casts in the next couple of days.

    Robert

Forgot to mention, they were at the pre panic price of $21.49 each.

I cast the Lee .319 RB for 32 Win Special plinking load. With a bit harder alloy than designed for it drops at .320 about the same as the 0 buck I started with but can no longer find. Shoots good with 3.5 gr 700X same as the buckshot did.

I had some flowage problems with my ten pound Lee deluge-a-matic I use for pure lead, good thing I use it in an aluminum turkey roasting pan. It either wanted to run constantly, or barely dribble when the handle was raised. Need to empty it and do some cleaning to the spout I suspect.

Before I got fed up and stopped last night I got a few decent casts and they ran between .320 and .322".

If nothing else I'll empty the WW from the magnum melter and use my ladle.

Received my new molds from Russia, took approximately one month. The molds are beautifully machined as are the core pins. AS was very easy to deal with and has excellent communication. There may be a time difference in response depending on when you email them. I purchased 2 12 gauge designs (Paradox/Azot) ,the "fire hydrant" type and one in 16 gauge (Sh-Sh).

Based on what I have seen others do with these Russian versions of the Italian (Gualandi) slug I am very hopeful I can achieve the same results. I never could get the LEE slugs to work at all and the Lyman slug while better, never offered anywhere near the accuracy results even with the cheapest versions of Rem, Win or Fed factory slugs.

Well, I broke out a mold that was inherited from a dear old friend after his death. It was still in the original shipping box and marked "Hensley and Gibbs, San Diego, California".

Pulled it out and found it to be a new, four cavity #130, which translates into a 180 grain semi wadcutter with a flat point. I also found it was considered to be THE bullet for the 1911 back in the 1950's.

My pot was already up to temperature so I tried it out. Man.........talk about luxury! The first drops were absolutely perfect and so were the remaining 200 I cast. Any boolits that stuck in the cavities came loose with a gentle tap. The boolits ended up being closer to 192 grains with my alloy, but they got loaded and will be shot very soon. It was time to retire my Lee 6 banger anyway...........

The 130 is a 185 gr boolit when cast with linotype and a very nice shooting boolit.

NOt new. But I modified a LEE 309-230 5R mold by removing its boat tail.

Cast up about 200 ta test.

Posted three videos on the alteration of the mold and casting with powder coating and sizing.

Tonight finished sizing and did not require to be done in two steps. I sized straight to .310. Easily finished.

Shooting to test probably next week.

It will arrive tomorrow...but I'm excited and can't wait.

I got an H&G #118 from the big auction site. I was the only bidder.

I love odd ball 45 molds!
