Bought a Lyman 266469 mould for my new to me 6.5 Swedish Mauser. Been building brass too out of ‘06. I think they will work fine but will need annealing. I have 125 pcs of 6mm Remington coming which will be a better brass to convert. Thinking that I need to build an annealing machine. Would be useful for my Krag brass too.

Not to take over this thread on recently bought molds but I have a comment about annealing. I use a very old Lee case spinner kit that I used to use for polishing brass cases with steel wool. The kit has a stud to lock into a variable speed drill and 6 thread-on shell holders of various diameters that will retain the majority of rifle (and a few handgun) cases. Lee sold these packed in a styrofoam tray with a case chart included under the bottom of the tray. I hold the drill and kit and slowly spin a case holding the propane torch where needed to anneal cases. Works very fast and excellent results. Lee dropped this kit many years ago but being that I rarely toss anything that may have some utility, mine is still here. Simple, fast and excellent results. It doesn't get much better than this.

A week or two ago got a Lee 358-125 RNFP for a new to me S&W Model 15. Wanted something lighter than my Lee 358-158 RNFP to keep recoil down. Cleaned it up and ran 6-700 boolits.

An Accurate 43-199S. I actually bought it sometime back, but it had come when I was out, my wife put it up and forgotten about it. Yesterday, I came across it while looking for something else--which I also found--should have bought a lottery ticket.

I hope to put it to work this afternoon, or else tomorrow. Happy Father's Day to all you casters!

    Greetings,

Bought a Cramer 16H at the Goon Show yesterday. A bit rusty; but, it is slowly getting better.

    Cheers,

    Dave

Most recently an Accurate, brass tri-cavity 45-185-O. I have exhausted my alloy supply, but I have 600 good quality target boolits that I am tumble lubing in batches.

Recently, I acquired a unmarked (custom?) Lee 6 cav mold, 30 cal TL with plain base, I'm thinking it's about 170 gr. because it's longer than the 160 TL GC mold that I have.
ANYWAY, it's been sitting on my bench for a few weeks, I've been meaning to cast with it, just to see exactly what it drops...but I've been busy with other thangs.

Today I got a brass mold with four cavities from Miha - MP-Molds here in Europe.
340grs, plain base, in .452 diameter.

Attaching pictures doesn’t work here with the iPhone.
Maybe on computer it would work.

Trying to cast the first boolits with this absolutely lovely manufactured mold tomorrow.

Today a mould that I've been wanting for a long time showed up in the mail, a 429303 2-cav eBay find. It didn't have a bargain-basement price tag but it wasn't exorbitant, either, and it's in practically new condition. Someone else snagged the matching 358393 that the same seller also had for sale, but I'll keep looking.

Arsenal 429421 255 Grain Keith SWC in brass. Got it yesterday. Did my heat cycling in a convection oven over the course of the night and cast a few samples today that look pretty darn good.

My impression(s): brass is heavier than aluminum and you do notice that, brass heats up slowly as compared to aluminum but seems to retain the heat better, the Lee mold handles that Arsenal sells for their molds are of better quality than the ones Lee supplies with their molds and I may be buying some more for use with the Lee molds I have, bullets just drop out of the mold without any need for use of the mallet.

Yes, I will probably be buying more molds from Arsenal.... probably in brass.

This morning on Midway I found a few LEE molds on sale. I grabbed a 6cav 358/105 swc and a 2 Cav 575/400 rf. Both for 53$ shipped.
