Thanks, KTW, and 454PB, for the heads up on the long duration of CCI primers...that's reassuring for what I recently bought at the local gun show.

I bought 5000 Win small pistol primers about 2 years ago at gun show in Charlotte,N.C. for about $75. Found some large rifle primers in a local pawn&gun store that he has had on the shelf for years and had not sold. I talked him out of them for $20 per thousand. I think he had 2000. I know that won't happen again for new orders.

Locally, they are around $3.89....something like that. So, $4.00 seems pretty typical to me. I can remember that they were something like $2.49....only about a year and a half ago. Yes, I'm sure that it costs an additional $1.40 to make 100 primers now....NOTHING of the price increase has anything to do with gouging for extra profit....sure, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

$25.95/K (+tx) ea. last Friday in Grand Rapids MI. I went to a wedding there and came back with around $240 worth of stuff that would have cost me a calculated $400 (with Haz-mat and shipping) here on the right coast! I saved over half our entire trip gas costs (or spent half again our fuel costs...depending on your point of view)

Just stopped in a local gun shop a few weeks ago. I needed some "different" primers than what I had on hand. Asked foe a 100pk of remington 9-1/2's. Whne she set them on the counter that had $1.79 marked on them...... I bought every primer they had. Averaged to $15/1000ct. Large and small, rifle and pistol.

    $2.89/100ct everywhere else around here.

    bass pro shop

was at a Bass Proshop and they had large pistol primers cci for 3.99 per hundred so you figure 35 for a gross. I thought that was a bit much and passed. I just bought some locally from my ffl for 2.99 per hundred. Still a bit sticker shocked consider last time buying them at a gunshow they we 22.00 per gross. Guess that is progress
