2400 does the heavy work in 44 Magnum for me. Herco gets the moderated loadings now, which make up about 75% of my 44 Magnum shooting these days.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

I heard it is good but slower then 296 so Velocity to twist might not be met. Might need a compressed load.

200g Lee over 700X is great for my warm loads in a 29 and an 1894.

I've read the same vs 296, it does take a bigger charge. 25gr under 250gr pills left me with real sooty cases and a soot covered revolver. 26gr mostly cleaned things up and 27gr kept everything clean without flattening primers and empties still fell right out. The loads might be lightly compressed, it's close either wary. I'm going to use up the rest of the pound at 26.5gr and probably be buried with most of them.

They shot well out of my stock 6"Anaconda and 4"Redhawk but good results for me are more about dumb luck than knowing what I'm doing.

I don't use 2400, but did a quick search this morning and found two places that still show it in stock. There are probably more if you do a deeper search. So it's out there. Just not a LOT of it.

Faster then 296 and 2400. If it will out shoot 296 I would buy it. Not in the cards so far.

I checked 2400 but really, all give very good accuracy with the right bullet. Some will do better with one bullet vs another.

+1 in regards to "using full-power loads"

I have lots of other opinions for non-full power loads

    700X is good stuff.

Interesting... I've got to look into this. I have a bunch of 700x to use up from a past deal.

Sometimes it takes a second box of boolits to clear my head.

Yeah, the OP asked for full-power loads, not low velocity loads. Somehow, 700-X and TrailBoss don't seem to answer his question.....

For 240/250-grain PB boolits I had great luck with IMR4227 in a 7.5" SBH.

H110 for hot & Unique for mild to mid. Has worked for me forever, no reason to change. I have used 2400 & 4227 but don't see any benefit over the first 2.

Haven't used anything but Li'l Gun in heavy loads since '98, but all of that was for 300 grain paper patch. The others listed in the survey were feeble in comparison.

Tinkering with 2400 for 320 grain subs of late, it does well.
